Chapter 2 An Angel Named Gold
1. What was the date he finally got his prayers answered? March 5, 1973 was the date when David;s prayers were finally answered.
2. What happened that day? That was the day when he finally got rescued after his long long misery living in " the house". The teachers and staff at his elementary school intervened and notified the police.
3. What was the truth about him? The truth that the teachers finally realized is why he was so different from the other children, why he smelled so bad, why he was dressed in rags, why he climbed in trash cans in search of food.
4. Who did Dave not get a chance to say good bye to? How did he feel about that? David didn't get a chance to say good bye to his English teacher Mrs. Woodworth.
5. Where did the officer drive David to? The police officer drove David to the county hospital.
6. What did the doctor recommend for Dave to get? The doctor gave David cream for his skin. The doctor also recommended that David gets plenty of food, and some time in the sun.
7. What did mom program into Davids head? Mom programmed into David's head that he was going to jail with other bad children like him.
8. When did he realize he was safe? David realized he was safe when both the police officer and the doctor told him that he was going to never get hurt again.
9. Where is his new home? Describe it His new home looked so beautiful to David. It looked like a giant log cabin with lots of open windows with a huge backyard with a tiny creek.
10. What was his reaction in being in A FOSTER HOUSE? David had never heard of such word before, but he knew or thought he was going to love it.
11. How did he react when aunt Mary grabbed his arm? David got scared when Aunt Mary grabbed his arms so he covered his face, and his knees began to shake.
12. What does David dream about? Do you think he will get over it? Davids dream was that he was in a long dark corridor and he saw a dark figure which then transformed into mother which then marched towards him.
13. Who was Ms. Gold? Describe her. Ms. Gold was the county's Child Protective Service agency. She had long, shiny blond hair and a bright face which matched her face.
14. Why wouldn’t Dave tell Ms. Gold the truth? He was scared that mother was going to find out that he told Ms. Gold the truth about the family secret.
15. How is mom during the time aunt Mary is on the phone? When Aunt Mary was on the phone she grabbed David arms and yell in a monotone voice at him saying that she doesn't what happens, this isn't over and shes going to get him back.
16. What does Dave later realize about Ms. Gold? Ms. Gold had been kind with everything especially with David's attitude. He also realized what she had put Ms. Gold into.
17. Do you think the cycle of hate moved onto another brother? Hm maybe, she might take her anger onto another child.
18. Why does David retract all his statements? David retracted all of his statements so he would know what might happen.
