The Lost Boy Questions

Chapter 4 “new Beginnings”
1. What did David fully realize about his mother after the effects of the trail had worn off? David finally realized that his mother could no longer harm him in any way after the effects of the trial had worn off.
2. Who was David now living with? David was now living in the home of Aunt Mary. His stay there was temporary until he was placed into a permanent foster home.
3. How is David adjusting to new life? David quickly became accustomed to the routine and his new school. Even though he knew he was free at Aunt Mary's home, he became lifeless and shy around his classmates.
4. Why the change in school? School was difficult for David to adjust. He had a hard time making friends. He stood out most of the time especially when they knew he didn't live with his parents.
5. What do you think his older foster brother meant by “our kind”? What was he warning him about? I think his older foster brother meant by "our kind" was that foster kids were different than kids that aren't in the foster care. He was warning David to not tell that he was a foster, because they might not like him.
6. Why didn’t David care that the bigger boys were only using him? David didn't care the fact that the bigger boys were only using him, because they were the only "friends" he had.
7. In what month was David put in his first foster home? The month when david was placed into his first fostor home was the first week of July.
8. What was his new foster mother’s name? David's new foster mother's name is Lilian Catanze.
9. Who was Ms. Gold talking about when she said David was to have no contact with them? Ms. Gold was talking about David's real family when she said David was to have no contact with them.
10. What do you think Ms. Gold meant by he’s a bit light fingered? What Ms. Gold meant by light fingered was that he gets a bit hyper and hes into everything.
11. What were the rules of the house? The rules of the house were that he was responsible for keeping the room clean, and helping out with the chores. He wasnt allowed to enter someone else's room without their permission. There is no lying and stealing allowed. If he wants to go somewhere, he has to ask Mrs. Catanze first and tell her where hes heading to and how long he'll be there.
12. Describe David’s new parents /family. Davids new parents/ family were really nice to him and he had more freedom than he ever had.
13. With a huge family, why does David still feel hollow? With a huge family, David still felt hollow, because he saw a couple sitting on the same table as what his mother and father had once sat on.
14. What did Larry Jr. say to David that made him mad and cry? Larry Jr. asked david questions like how did it feel to get kicked and beat up so bad, and didnt fight back when he got abused. His questions made David mad and cry at the same time.
15. How is Mom’s attitude when she visits David? Mother's attitude was relaxed when she had visited david, she still wouldnt talk to David though.
16. Why is he trying to earn money? David was trying to earn money so he could have enough money to get his bike fixed.
17. When does he finally feel like a normal kid, why? David finally feels like a normal kid, because then he can finally ride a bike and hear other kids have fun.
18. Why did Dave feel like he nearly coughed up his food when he opened the door? Who was at the door? His mother was at the door when he opened it in which he nearly coughed up his food.
