1. By the time he almost turned 11 what did he know and what would happen to him if he would looked at his mother or one of his brothers?
-When Dave looks at his mother or one of his brothers, his mother gives him a slap on the face.
2. What did Dave see from the corner of his eye?
-From the corner of Dave's eyes he saw an object fly from her hand.
3. What did Dave’s mother do to him? And why?
-Mother was trying to clean his wound. i think she was doing that so she wont take him to the hospital and she was scared.
4. What was the accident? Do you think it was an accident?
-When the knife flew off of his mother's hand, Dave got stabbed from his chest.
5. How did mom feel about the accident?
- Mother probably didn't care that he got stabbed it was just the fact that she might get in trouble if anything else happened to him since he got stabbed.
6. Where did she stab Dave? And with what?
-Mother accidentally stabbed Dave on his chest with a knife.
7. What did she tell Dave after she finished dressing his wound?
- She told Dave to go in doing his chore of washing the dishes.
8. What did his father say to him when Dave told him what his mother had done? How does his father feel about it?
- His father asked him why his mother stabbed him, and he acted like he didn't care at all. Then his father told him to go back to the kitchen so he can finish washing the dishes. in the story the father, asked him if his mother knew he was talking to him if not he doesn't want to deal with her being upset for tonight.
9. How long did it take him to finish his chores after the “accident?
- After the accident, Dave took him almost 1 hr and 30 minutes in doing his chore.
10. What was the code of the family?
-The code of the family was that Dave wasn't part of the family anymore.
11. What did Dave think when his mother let him go play outside with his brothers?
-Dave thought that she was trying to make up with him, and he thinks that everything from the good times were going to be back. he thinks that she was going to change because of the accident.
12. What did he see on his wound when he tried cleaning it with a rag?
-When Dave tried cleaning his wound with a rag he saw puss.
13. How does mother change her attitude? Why?
-Mother temporarily changed her attitude, because it was Fourth of July.
14. Why does David brain wash himself?
-Dave brainwashed himself, because he wasn't considered as part of the family anymore.
